À l'origine, cette petite boutique londonienne est spécialisée dans la vente d'antiquités, de curiosités et de coquillages orientaux. Alors utilisés pour orner notamment les boîtes à bijoux, ces coquillages connaissent un tel succès qu'ils deviennent rapidement la matière première des activités florissantes d'import-export de la boutique en Extrême-Orient.\u003C/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003ELe terme est déposé en 1897, à la création de la Shell Transport and Trading Company par M. Samuel. La coquille de moule du premier logo de 1901 fait place, en 1904, à une coquille Saint-Jacques, ou pétoncle, qui incarne visuellement le nom de la marque et de la société.\u003C/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EÀ la fusion de la Royal Dutch Petroleum Company et de la Shell Transport and Trading en 1907, la nouvelle société, baptisée Royal Dutch Shell Group, choisit pour nom abrégé et emblème le nom de la marque et le symbole du commerce londonien de la famille Samuel (Shell et le pétoncle), qui lui sont toujours associés aujourd'hui.\u003C/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EAu fil des ans, la forme du logo Shell évolue avec les tendances du design graphique. Le logo actuel a été lancé en 1971. Nous avons notamment collaboré avec les chanteurs Bing Crosby et Sammy Davis Jr. En 2015, avec le concours de Tom Howe, compositeur britannique de musiques pour le petit et le grand écran, nous avons lancé la musique « Sound of Shell ». Cette signature sonore incarne les valeurs et l'énergie de la marque Shell, tout en reflétant son image d'entreprise moderne qui innove pour contribuer à la construction d'un avenir énergétique durable.\u003C/p\u003E\r\n\u003Cp\u003EIl s'agit d'une composition orchestrale de trois minutes, déclinée en plus de 50 variations de différents genres et styles musicaux. Chaque variation est basée sur une mélodie centrale qui peut être interprétée dans de nombreux styles, allant du son percutant de guitares électriques à des adaptations Thaï et turque. La version la plus courte est un \u003Ci\u003Egimmick\u003C/i\u003E, ou motif mélodique, de deux secondes qui accompagne par exemple notre logo à la fin d'un film Shell.
